I have a keen interest in academic research. In 2020, after spending three years as a dedicated Research Fellow in Electrophysiology, I was awarded a PhD from the University of Southampton.
My research, which primarily concerned the development of a personalised sensing vector for the subcutaneous ICD, was awarded the Young Investigator's Award at Heart Rhythm Congress in 2018.
In combination with my clinical role as an NHS Consultant, I am also an Honorary Senior Lecturer at the University of Aberdeen.
I am an author on more than 25 published peer review articles on the National Institute of Health (PubMed) database. including original research from my PhD, review articles, national guidelines, case reports and a systematic review. A complete list of my publications can be found here.
I was recently the lead author on an opinion piece in Heart entitled 'Is it time to write for out patients, rather than about them?' a topic that I am particularly passionate about in my everyday practice.
