Consultant Cardiologist and Electrophysiologist
I am a Consultant Cardiologist and Electrophysiologist at Aberdeen Royal Infirmary, specialising in the management of patients with Heart Rhythm Disorders.
I am trained in cardiac catheter ablation and offer invasive treatment options for patients with atrial fibrillation, atrial flutter, SVT, ventricular tachycardia and ectopics.
I am accredited in Device Therapy and can implant loop recorders, permanent pacemakers (including leadless systems) and defibrillators (including subcutaneous ICDs).
I qualified as a Doctor in 2008, having studied at the University of Cambridge and Imperial College School of Medicine. I was elected as a Fellow of the Royal College of Physicans (London) in 2023.
I was trained in Cardiology in the Wessex Deanery (2012-2020) before being appointed to the prestigious role of AVATAR Fellow (Advanced Ventricular Arrhythmia Training and Research Program) at St George's University Hospital, London. I was appointed as a Consultant in 2021.
I have a PhD from the University of Southampton. My research concerned the development of a personalised sensing vector for the subcutaneous ICD. I was awarded the Young Investigator's Award at Heart Rhythm Congress in 2018 and I am now an Honorary Senior Lecturer at the University of Aberdeen.
